![]() You'd have better luck complaining to the electronics department manager than ranting on this thread. As long as there is no purchasing limit per customer this sort of thing is always going to happen. Tig wrote: ↑You'll never get everyone to agree on what's fair and what isn't. I believe there a some good free imaging programs, sorry, the names don't come to mind because I use Acronis. that is if you have taken the time to back up your data somewhere besides the Gateway. If you crash, just reload the image with a few clicks instead of doing a recovery and having to re-install everything and all your precious data. If you have an extra external drive, best to make an image with say, AcronisTrueImage, and update it every few months. That shouldn't have created a problem, should it? I've allowed MS Update to update the system first. ![]() ![]() I recall having a problem burning restore discs on my Compaq's Optiarc drive too, though Verbatims, I believe, ultimately worked then. The (Optiarc) drive reads and plays back burned DVD+Rs, but seems to be objecting to burning discs, at least through the included Gateway Recovery Management program. I've tried Verbatim, Fuji, and even "Vacoss" (all DVD+R) and all were rejected with an error message. Tornado F2 wrote: ↑Has anybody successfully burned system restore discs yet?
